Rack and Track Sliding Gate Operators use a pinion on the operator which meshes into a rack attached to the base rail of the sliding gate. As the pinion turns, it drives the rack and moves the gate backward or forward along its track.
The track is a flanged, round topped length of heavy duty galvanized steel set into a concrete strip footing.
